The 15-year-old Neptune High School sophomore went missing Thursday while swimming with friends. Searchers scoured the jetty area and surf Thursday evening and much of Friday looking for the teen before the search was canceled because of stormy weather.
With Nelson still missing, friends and family gathered Sunday evening along the boardwalk carrying white balloons with messages such as “Team Nas” and “I miss you.” Others carried fistfuls of roses and daisies as they walked to the edge of the surf.
“He was the straw that stirs the drink,” said Laura Myers, 42, of Ocean Grove. Myers said Nelson and her son Miles were friends for years. “He impacted a lot of people. He was a good kid.”
In Nelson’s honor, some of his friends dyed an off-centered stripe of vibrant color into their hair, something that the teen did regularly, Myers said.
Nelson, who played football, also enjoyed basketball and video games, said Cavendish Louisius, 17, of Neptune. The two had been friends since second grade.
“He was funny … he always had a smile on his face,” Louisius said, while holding a white balloon that read “I love you, Naisere.”
During the vigil, friends shielded candles from the wind and others hugged at the edge of the surf. His closest friends and family pushed through the throngs of supporters to share memories in a tightly packed circle where their voices were dwarfed by the roar of waves.
“Everybody loved him in school,” said Elaine Granata Davis as she wiped away tears.
Davis, a teacher at Neptune High School, had Nelson as a Spanish language student for a semester of during his freshman year, as the school has blocked scheduling, she said. Davis described Nelson as a quiet, respectful and friendly boy.
“It was an honor to be his teacher,” she said.
At the end of the vigil, the crowd moved toward the water where they released balloons, sending a rainbow of colored balls, stars and hearts into the overcast sky. Others threw roses and daisies into the surf, where the waves picked up the flowers and pulled them out to sea.
As of Sunday afternoon, Bradley Beach police still were still searching the beach for Nelson’s body.

Imagine there’s this sad soul whose never seen Greg Gossel’s work. Let me paint that person a picture. The Minneapolis based artist combines expressive interplay of words, images and gesture through a combination of mediums including silkscreen, transfers and found objects. Consider it visual intertextuality.
With every piece is not only adding to the dialogue of contemporary art, he’s commenting on it, by the images he uses or doesn’t use.Greg is deep in the midst of preparing for his upcoming solo exhibition “Numb” at 941 Geary in San Francisco which is set to open this Summer. He’ll be debuting roughly 30 new original works on canvas and wood include a portrait-based series, and a new series of more abstract collage-based works. In addition he’ll be showing a series of large-scale works on canvas, his largest to date.
“This new work is based heavily in cultural ephemera,” Greg tells me. “found billboard scraps, old tabloids, pulp novels, and superhero comics are all built up and mashed together creating a really rich textured working surface. I’m also incorporating a wide variety of other mediums into the work such as screenprinting, acrylic, enamel, bleach, stains, sanding, etc.”
MAKEUP TIP 1: Solange has four looks in the picture above. Notice that when she’s wearing a strong popping eyeshadow color her lips are nude or they have suddle color. This is to keep focus on the eyes.
MAKEUP TIP 2: Look at the center of Solange’s face. Doesn’t it look radiant. Well this is a highlighting technique. Use an illuminating highlighting powder on top of your makeup in the center of your face once you’ve set your foundation. This will give you a natural shine with a stunning glow. Rimmel Bronzer in Sunlight is the perfect product to use for a highlight

Straight from her Vibe Magazine shoot, Cassie is also featured in Nylon Magazine this month. Inside, she talks her new album, whether she sees herself as a model or musician, and why she cut her hair. I never hear alot about Cassie as an artist, I think she is a beautiful girl…I guess thats why Diddy or “swag” keeps her around
Tell us about your new album
It’s a cool blend of pop, hip-hop, and ska. It’s urban Gwen Stefani meets Aaliyah. I hate referencing people but if you had to compare, that’s it.
What’s your favorite track on the new album?
“Lonely Disco Ball,” which is about the end of the night when the party is done and everybody has left.
How did you transition from model to musician?
I started modeling at the age of 12. Then I moved to New York City when I where I met Ryan Leslie through friends and started recording. We did three demos and one of them was “Me and U.” At the time Myspace was booming and the song took off. Then it was number one and it stayed there for six weeks.
Do you consider yourself a model or musician?
Musician because I love being creative and letting myself be emotional in that moment.
What promoted you to shave the side of your head?
It was time for a change and I never do anything crazy to my hair.
What did your mom say?
I was worried about what she would think but then she said, “OMG!..I get to see your pretty face”
This seasons ‘Versace man’ collection for men is obviously fooling around with shapes, proportions, colors and graphics..pretty much hes getting more comfortable and open minded to fashion, and being introduced to the contemporary look. This look is not suppose to shine and stand out, its calm serene, and focused more on the luxury of the collection. I cant get enough of the fine tailoring and different fabrics being used. The focus this season to me was focused more on the shoulders, coats, and detailing of the mans body. The combination of long, short, and extended waistlines totally work for this collection, its a vintage look, and at the same time very contemporary, and I totally recognize the Versace code the ’3-D effect. threads, astrakhan necks of the coats also posses a three-dimensional aspect. The colors include electric blue, camel, red, purple and flashes of hot pink. Suits explore a full range of grey , and the key fabrics are cashmere and wool.
