ESGN: Freddie Gibbs “DJ 3 Stacks”

After noticing Freddie Gibbs’ insightful and often humorous observations on sports through his Twitter account, Rap Radar decided to give him a forum to express his thoughts on the thrills of victory and the agonies of defeat. It’s Gangsta Gibbs Wide World Of Sports. The black Bill Simmons is here. And for lucky number 13, Gibbs tips his hat to NY Yankee captain Derek Jeter’s 3,000 hit.
Mr. 3000, I used to like that movie wit Bernie Mac.  It’s rare that you see a guy get to 3000 hits.  I think the last guy I saw do it was Eddie Murray and he was like 66.
I gotta show love to Derek Jeter.
YN asked me where I thought Jeter ranked as far as all time Yankee players.  I’d put him close to the top.  5 World Series rings, 12 All Star nods 3000 hits and a stable of celebrity hoez ain’t bad for a 17 year career.  The astonishing thing is that he did it all for one team.  That’s unheard of in the free agent era of sports.  Especially in baseball.
I was also surprised to see that Jeter was the first to hit 3k in a Yankee uniform.  With muthafuckas like Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio somebody woulda been had 3000 hits in The Bronx.  That just makes it all more special.
Another thing we don’t appreciate about Jeter is he’s been a class act his entire career. You don’t see him with a DUI or buying pussy on the street corner, his name wasn’t even mixed up in the steroid bullshit like half of his teammates.
Congrats DJ you’re in a rare club with guys like Roberto Clemente and Cal Ripken.  You might not catch Charlie Hustle, but you’ll walk right into the Hall of Fame.
I’m out this bitch, I’m in the airport going to ATL and the flight attendant got a fat ass. Life is good.

Trae’s verse on this was recorded three years ago, but the Street Runner-produced cut, will be featured on tomorrow’s release of Street King. Sound familiar? Well it’s also the same track found on Fab’s The S.O.U.L. Tape.

Bow Wow Shows Off His "Underrated" Status

Cash Money Records' Bow Wow has provided an update on his long-awaited Underrated album by finally announcing a release date.
In addition to announcing a date, Bow Weezy also revealed the album's first single.
"Underrated New Bow wow Album Nov 1 #YMCMB cash money young money "We Da Biness"," he tweeted July 11th.
"1st single @BowWow @Liltunechi @TheRealDJKhaled "Eat The Cake" coming soon... #YMCMB" (Bow Wow's Twitter)
In November 2010, Cash Money Records co-founder Baby spoke on Bow Wow's potential at the label.
"I think Bow Wow is great. He has a great record out right now with him and Chris Brown ("Aint Thinkin' About You"). I think Bow Wow is going to surprise a lot of people with his album. I see greatness in the young boy. Remember, Bow Wow is already a star. He has platinum albums and [movies]. But now he's in a different atmosphere; with a different crew. All I'm doing is bringing that great music to him; I'm putting him with the Waynes and the Drakes and letting him do his thing. But at the end of the day, Bow Wow has to do him. And he's adjusting great." (VIBE)
In 2009, former Cash Money Records artist Juvenile hit up SOHH to share his thoughts on Bow Wow carrying on the label's legacy.
"Eh, they got some big shoes to fill," Juvie said about the Cash Money newcomers carrying on the legacy. "That's all I can say, I don't know anything about Jay Sean, I know about Bow Wow. Even Bow Wow pretty much was always a favorite of Baby's because they were cool. Bow Wow did always look up to Lil Wayne, I mean, it's not a bad look for 'em. I think it'll be a plus for Bow Wow being on Cash Money to be honest because they're capable of doing some big things with artists." (SOHH)
Last year, Jadakiss clarified Bow Wow's statements about executive producing his entire album.
"That's still in the talks," Jada said about overseeing Bow Wow's LP. "I hollered at Bow, then he mentioned it on the red carpet of the Lottery Ticket premiere and I looked at the Internet bugging out. But we briefly talked about it over the phone, that's just talks. If it's the right situation and needs me to do something, I'll help him out. He reached out to the God MC to oversee his joint and like I said in the question before this, it's a business and there's proper channels it has to go through in order to make it happen. If he wanna do it, we can do it, but right now it's just talks." (Karen Civil)
Bow Wow's Underrated is slated to drop Tuesday, November 1st.
