New Music: Monica f/ Lil’ Kim & Rick Ross – ‘Anything (To Find You)’

Monica searches for true love on “Anything (To Find You),” the first single from her 7th studio album New Life, tentatively due October 4. The ’90s-inspired record, produced by Missy Elliott, samples the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Who Shot Ya?” Monica takes listeners back to R&B’s glory days with her soulful voice, Rozay channels Biggie, and the Queen Bee delivers a short, yet stinging verse.
The mother of two, who found her own Mr. Right in Lakers star Shannon Brown, explained how the new album will sound. “You get to hear some different flavors, but it’s definitely R&B,” said Monica, who has also been in the studio with her cousin Polow Da Don. “I think when you’re in a happy place, you’re able to do your job a lot easier.”
