Are You Too Ugly to Date? Ask This “Beautiful People” Dating Website…

There’s a dating site for just about anything these days.
But being that I’m constantly online and I KNOW that people pretend to be just about anything from behind a keyboard, I’m not a huge proponent of online dating.
I know that it’s a big business, but I prefer to meet my men the old fashioned way… in person. At the gas station, the grocery store, the airport… or even at social functions.
But I digress…
One site in particular is catching a lot of flack recently after it ditched 30,000 members from the database for being TOO UGLY.
Yuuup… you read right…. ugly people are facing discriminatory practices online these days.
Details below:
What was meant to be an exclusive dating website for the use of “beautiful men and women” was regulated to craigslist personals status recently.
“Beautiful” members of the site never have to worry about meeting someone who doesn’t meet their standard of good looks because all of the “Ugly” people recently got the boot!
How did all the Ug-mo’s get in you ask? Well last month BeautifulPeople.com was attacked by a computer virus that they claim allowed around 30,000 new members to slip through the cracks.
The virus was called Shrek (named after the animated film about how looks should not matter), and it attacked the software used to screen potential members.
Unfortunately those new members failed to meet the Denmark-based site’s aesthetic standards, and have now all been dropped.
A helpline has now been set up with counselors on hand to help the distressed rejects from the site.
“We have to stick to our founding principles of only accepting beautiful people – that’s what our members have paid for,” said Greg Hodge, managing director of BeautifulPeople.com.
“We can’t just sweep 30,000 ugly people under the carpet.”
But wait! “Ugly” people need love too don’t they?
Question: How to you feel about online dating? Is it a good thing or bad thing to separate the Uglies from the “Beautiful People”?
