Before
taking to the court as part of MTV2 and Converse’s "Band of Ballers"
event in New York City earlier this week, rapper Jim Jones was asked for
some updates and details about the new, in-the-works Diplomats album
with Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, and Freekey Zeekey.
Jones revealed to XXLmag.com that
The Diplomats album is still being recorded; however, due to the
group’s schedules and side businesses, the process is taking longer than
expected.
When pressed for more information about the album, Jones let it slip that they are filming a Diplomats movie as well: “Our
success and road to success has been filled with a lot of ups and
downs. It’s kind of like an action flick. If you Google us and read all
the news clippings and everything that’s been going on while we been on
TV, it should be a good movie,” Jones said.
The Diplomats reunited last June, after several years of friction, on a track called “Salute.”
Their new album is also set to feature some production from Dr. Dre, who The Diplomats were photographed working with last summer.

There are currently no release dates for the album or film. Jones’ fifth studio album, Capo (E1), is in stores now.
