A History Of Violence: 20 Rappers With Real Rap Sheets


Many rappers rhyme about their quick-tempered criminal exploits, but there are a few MCs who actually have the rap sheet to prove it.
And we're not talking about your garden-variety disorderly conduct or DUI charges, ranging from murder to kidnapping to cannibalism, there are some current and former rappers with some serious strikes on their criminal records.
A handful of these rappers have thrown their lives away to the prison system, while a few served their time and were given a second chance at life.
Others built their reps in Hip-Hop off their past criminal lives.
Here are 20 Hip-Hop artists who caught violent felonies before during or after their rap careers.


Maino
Served a five to 15 year sentence in the early ‘90s for a drug related kidnapping.

Cool C
Currently on death row for the 1996 murder of Philadelphia police officer.

Gucci Mane
Charged with the murder of Henry Lee Clark III (got off on self-defense) in 2005. Spent six months in jail for assaulting a club promoter with a pool cue the same year.

X-Raided
Sacramento rapper is serving 31-years in prison for a gang-related murder.

Flesh-N-Bone
Served eight years in prison for assault with a deadly weapon.

Cassidy
 Served eight months in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Desmond Hawkins.


C-Murder
Serving a life sentence for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Steve Thomas.

Big Lurch
Gone off PCP, Lurch killed his female roommate and ate parts of her body in 2002. Currently doing life.

Da Brat
Served 21 months in prison for the 2007 aggravated assault of a nightclub waitress with a liquor bottle.


Tru Life
Serving eight years in prison in connection with the stabbing death of Christopher Guerrero.

Remy Ma
Currently serving an eight-year sentence for assault, illegal weapons possession and attempted coercion in the 2007 shooting of former friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph.

Shyne
Served nine-years in prison for two counts of assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession in the infamous, “New York Club Shooting.”

Slick Rick
Spent five years in prison following his first album for attempted second degree murder after shooting two men in 1990.

G. Dep
The former Bad Boy artist confessed to shooting a man in 1993, last December. Currently awaiting trial.


Mac
The former No Limit artist is serving a 30-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter.

Former teen rapper, famous for the 1992 track “Age Aint Nothing But A #,” is serving 14-years for the 2001 shooting death of Sean Raymond.

Styles P
Served eight months in prison for a 2002 stabbing.


Turk
The former Cash Money Hot Boy is serving a 12-year sentence for his role in the shooting of a SWAT team deputy in 2004.

Steady B
Currently serving a life sentence for his role in the 1996 murder of a Philadelphia police officer.
