63-Year-Old Accused Rapist Says 4-Year-Old Initiated Sexual Contact

Accused 63-Year-Old Rapist Says 4-Year-Old Initiated Sexual Contact
A 63-year-old Washington State man is behind bars this morning after police say he admitted to raping two young girls but blamed the youngest, a 4-year-old, for initiating sexual contact.
Oak Harbor police report that Richard Tice Sr. repeatedly raped a 4-year-old and 8-year-old girl and has been charged with four counts of first degree rape of a child.
The Seattle PI reports that Detective Sgt. Teri Gardner with the Oak Harbor Police Department started investigating the case last month after the parents of one of the alleged victims brought her to the hospital after she reported the abuse.
According to Gardner, Tice Sr. was arrested after another girl, 8, came forward to report abuse in graphic detail.
After reading Tice his Miranda Rights, Gardner reports that Tice initially denied abusing the children but then confessed saying,
“'I play around. I'll be truthful” before blaming the 4-year-old for initiating sexual contact.
The Detective also says that another child has come forward in California to report abuse.
If convicted Tice Sr. could face an indeterminate sentence of up to life in prison, with a minimum of 20 to 26.5 years in prison.
