Big Sean talks XXL, Finally Famous, Drake using his Flow, Rapping at 12 ...

Big Sean sits down with Ms. Drama to recap about his XXL Freshman cover and the new artists reflected this year. He talks about how G.O.O.D. music has represented for the last 3 years and his active relationships with some of the freshman. Sean also discusses his upcoming album, Finally Famous, and offers insight on the meaning and story behind it. In reference to features, Sean mentions that the G.O.O.D. family will be involved, but prefers not to give away too much.

When asked about the music reality show contest as a medium for artists to get discovered, Sean expresses he would have also been interested in taking that route if he hadn’t been discovered already. Sean also opens up about Drake using his flow and that although “there wasn’t get a check” he did get credit and respects Drake as an artist. He adds that he’s flattered that, “he made a rhyme scheme that the whole rap game imitated”. Sean admits that he has now retired that flow partly due to the artists that abused his rhyme scheme.

On the note of his earlier years and an artist, Sean laughs at his previous notions as an emcee where he rapped about abstinence and no drugs. He reflects on his group the Young Boys and how he has essentially changed as an artist. The interview ends with Sean’s take on the future of G.O.O.D. music and the pressure that will essentially help him to be a better artist.
