variety of notable women working within the Hip-Hop industry will take part in the 5th annual Herstory Tour taking place at New York University today (March 28th).
DMX's wife Tashera Simmons, rapper Rah Digga, and Somaya Reece of VH1's reality show Love & Hip-Hop will be among the guest speakers at the event, which is designed to empower, inform and educate young women.
The Herstory Panel tour was created by Women On the Move, an organization that targets female students to help with career choices, to build self esteem, and execute their longterm career goals.
“Our goal with the tour is to help and make an impact on the lives of as many women as possible,” Women On The Move founder, Amber Ravenel told AllHipHop.com. “But if we are able to touch the life of even just one woman, that it is a success."
Others participating in the panel include XXL's Editor-In-Chief, Vanessa Satton, Columbia Records' Alexandra Rango, celebrity stylist Mia and Married to the Mob's Leah, while Fuse TV's Dee Vazquez will host the panel.
“Women On the Move is one of the most influential women empowerment tours that the Tri-State area has ever witnessed,” said Dee Vazquez of Fuse TV. “In today’s society, we need to ensure that grown women, young ladies and girls alike are interconnected as one—that something personal, something undeniable and ultimately authentic brings them together on one similar common ground.”
Music will be provided by Sirius Radio's Mz Stylez and S. Whit.
