According to the New York Daily News, Hot 97 and 106 & Park personality DJ Megatron was shot and killed early this morning on Staten Island. The paper reported that witnesses said they heard a shot at around 2 a.m. Then, briefly after, he was pronounced dead as a result of a wound to his stomach. Police apparently would not confirm Megatron's identity to the Daily News as they were still investigating the shooting.
A Pennsylvania native, Megatron got his start interning at Kiss FM in New York before moving to Hot 97. He also worked at several other nearby stations, including Boston's Hot 97.7 and Philly's 100.3 The Beat, according to Karen Civil. Also, as his IMDB page indicates, he was working on building his acting resume after appearing in films such as State Property 2 and Blood of a Champion.
