Suge Knight Doc Greenlighted By Showtime, Tupac Biopic Director Hops Aboard

Premium cable channel Showtime has reportedly agreed to feature an upcoming documentary based on the life of former Death Row Records owner Marion "Suge" Knight, directed by from Antoine Fuqua.
Details of the new documentary film emerged online this week.
Controversial Death Row Records co-founder Marion "Suge" Knight Jr. is the focus of a documentary that will be produced by and broadcast on Showtime, the network announced Tuesday. Tentively titled "Suge Knight," the film will be directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "Brooklyn's Finest") and co-produced by Fuqua and Bradley J. Fischer ("Black Swan," "Shutter Island," "Zodiac"). Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former Times reporter Chuck Philips is also one of the film's co-producers. Showtime said the Knight film is the first in a series of documentaries for the network from "talented and prestigious filmmakers" that "will spotlight iconic and controversial figures." (The Los Angeles Times)
Co-producer Bradley J. Fischer has released a statement confirming the deal.
"Suge Knight's reputation and rise to power in the music business has become the stuff of legend, and he remains one of the entertainment industry's most provocative and enduring myths," said Fischer. "But while his name elicits an immediate and powerful reaction from people around the world, very few can legitimately claim to know the man. Antoine Fuqua and I are thrilled to be partnering with SHOWTIME to tell this remarkable story and take audiences behind a curtain that most have been terrified to even approach." (Statement)
Last month, Knight made headlines for getting convicted in a suspended license case.
Former Death Row Records boss Suge Knight has been sentenced to 36 months probation for driving on a suspended licence. The rap mogul was convicted after police pulled him over and impounded his black truck in Beverly Hills back in February. He pleaded no contest to the charge and was given three years unsupervised probation. This is the second time the rap mogul has been caught driving on a suspended licence. (NME News)
Knight is most known for signing late rapper Tupac Shakur plus Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to Death Row Records in the 1990's.
The rap world is no stranger to controversy, but the vast majority involves its recording artists, and perhaps an occasional outbreak of violence at a show. Yet, few industry figures ever attracted the kind of notoriety that Death Row Records label head Marion "Suge" Knightdid. A particularly flamboyant and visible executive, Knight built Death Row into the biggest hip-hop label of the early '90s, thanks to a stable of talent that included Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and 2Pac. Death Row brought gangsta rap to the top of the pop charts, and made the West Coast into the epicenter of '90s hip-hop. (All Music)

Cormega Reacts To Cool Kids' Co-Sign, "I'm One Of The Most Underrated Artists. Ever."

After rap duo The Cool Kids named hip-hop veteran Cormega their pick for SOHH Underrated, the Queensbridge, New York emcee has hit up SOHH to share his reaction to the accolade.
Accepting the co-sign, Mega also offered to work with the Cool Kids on new music.
"First and foremost, tell the Cool Kids I appreciate that and let's do something," Mega told SOHH. "I don't need any money or nothing. I'll do a song with them for free. I like respect. See, respect feels good. I'll do a song with them for free. I appreciate that. I kind of like being underrated. You gotta understand, when I do my shows, there's a lot of young people that f*ck with me. There's people that f*ck with me on Twitter and they're like, 'Yo Mega, what's the age limit because I'm 18 and I'm trying to get in.' So a lot of young people f*ck with me. And that surprises me sometimes -- I do think I'm one of the most underrated artists. Ever. [Especially] when you look at what I bring to the table. Tell me another artist that did 'Soul Train' and the Apollo Theater. I did 'Soul Train,' Apollo Theater and Central Park. I've done shows with Big Pun. I've recorded with Nas. I've recorded with KRS-One. If you name the greatest group ever, I've probably worked with 90 percent of them. The LOX. Mobb Deep. Dogg Pound. Boot Camp." (SOHH)
Cool Kids' Chuck Inglish credited Mega's lyrical style and flow for earning the most slept-on crown.
"You have to say that Cormega was underrated. [He's] a good example of [an] underrated [artist]. It was everything about him, from his spitting and his flow. If you listen to him, it's his concepts and everything that he was saying, especially with the creativity. Cormega was Nas' big homie. If you think about it, he was the Nas before Nas was even Nas. "What's going on, where's Cormega?" Nas shouted him out on the first sh*t [Illmatic]. Cormega was already the king of that so he's gotta get named SOHH Underrated." (SOHH Underrated)
Initially leaning toward fellow New York rap vet AZ, Mikey Rocks also named Mega SOHH Underrated.
"The most underrated? D*mn, that's a good question. Since we're talking about rappers, there's a few out there that I could name. I think my man AZ was underrated but he had a good run too. I still don't think he popped as hard as he should have. But for SOHH Underrated, we'd have to say Cormega." (SOHH Underrated)
The Queens rapper is most known for his independent hustle through the 1990's.
An underground and critical favorite, Cormega was the rare hardcore rapper to win praise from all directions, and while he never quite crossed over like some of his New York City peers, he maintained a respectable independence over the years nonetheless, self-releasing his work on the Legal Hustle label. Born Cory McKay, Cormega grew up in the same Queensbridge housing projects that were home to a generation of rappers, most notably Nas, Mobb Deep, AZ, and Tragedy Khadafi, and a previous generation that famously included Marley Marl and the Juice Crew. Mobb Deep Sniff Out 'Black Cocaine' Artwork, "They Brought My Thoughts To Life"

Mobb Deep's Prodigy has unveiled the cover art to his and Havoc's upcoming Black Cocaine EP retail project and credited Sony's RED distribution for helping draw out his thoughts.
According to Capital P, he initially came up with the project's artwork concept.
Black Cocaine drops November 25 on Black Friday and MTV News has gotten the first look at the project's cover art. The still life photo features black powder on a shadowy white back drop. A rolled-up $100 bill sits beside the powder which is situated to spell out the words "Black Cocaine" in cursive. While the cover shows neither Havoc nor Prodigy, it is a stark and powerful image nonetheless. "The cover art for the Black Cocaine EP was an idea I came up with then passed over to the [Sony] RED art department. They brought my thoughts to life," Prodigy told MTV News. "Havoc and I laughed the other day about how hustlers are gonna try to make real black cocaine when they see the cover and hear the music." (RapFix)
Last week, Hav announced plans to drop their EP at the end of November.
"We have an EP coming on Black Friday," Havoc said, referring to November 25, the beginning of the holiday shopping season. "We didn't come up with a title yet, but we'll have a title that will mean something. It will be like seven or eight songs. I did like three. We have some produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Alchemist and this kid named Young Free. It feels good man. It's a long time coming. Now we could really be in control of our own destiny. It's all on us now. For right now we're gonna focus on the Mobb. But the label situation is set up to break other acts. We're gonna be versatile with it. We're not gonna just get the homie from up the block. We're gonna get talent. We're definitely serious about it." (XXL Mag)
Earlier this month, Prodigy and Hav talked about securing a record deal with Sony Music distributor RED.
"The way we structured it is as a distribution deal basically, so we run our own label, Infamous, and we gotta do the daily ins and outs of everything. We gotta handle all the record company business and they get it in the stores for us, basically," Prodigy told MTV News backstage at Rock the Bells in New York City on Saturday. "It's been a long time coming," Havoc added. "We've been in the game for a minute and the object of the game is to control your own business." (MTV)
A few weeks ago, the duo issued a statement revealing their new post-Interscope/G-Unit Records deal.
"After almost 20 years in this industry, it was inevitable for us to take matters into our own hands. We feel that RED is the perfect home for our brand," Prodigy said in a press release. "We know who our fans are and what they want from Mobb Deep. We're excited to take a new step in our career," Havoc added. President of RED Distribution Bob Morelli offered his support of the newly inked group and label. "Mobb Deep is an iconic act, having been on the cutting edge of music and social commentary for years. We are happy and excited to distribute the next chapter in their musical career." Whiskey rocks

Love the complex flavours of a single malt? Enjoy a rich, smooth whiskey? Hate when the 'rocks' melt away and dilute that fine spirit? Then you, my friend, need these...

Whisky Rocks.

Designed by Andrew Hellman, Whisky Rocks are sweet little cubes of cool comprised of Vermont soapstone. Soapstone is food safe and soft, so it won't scratch your glass. Store them in your freezer in the muslin bag, pop three in a glass, allow your beverage to chill for five minutes and enjoy!

When you have enjoyed that last drop of perfectly chilled elixir simply rinse the stones off and they are ready for cold storage.

Ice melts. Whisky Rocks! You know you want them..... Take Me There!

Rick Ross Tells Fellas To Fall Back, "Real N*ggas Don't Send D*ck Flicks"

Miami rapper Rick Ross opens up about his romantic life and why men should avoid sending graphic cell phone photos of their private areas in the new issue of GQ Magazine.
Based on an excerpt from the October issue, Ricky Rozay reveals his current martial status.
I asked if he had a girlfriend. "I'm single," he said. "I'm enjoying life. Being a boss. Like all true bosses, one day you gotta give it up." He likes to visit the Louis Vuitton store at the Lenox mall when he is in town and has some downtime, and this afternoon, as we drove there, the topic of former congressman Anthony Weiner came up. Ross had never heard of him. He became curious as he learned the story. Some passages from a leaked Facebook chat were quoted. "How the f*ck that sh*t get out?" he wanted to know. He was told that Weiner tweeted a picture of his d*ck to someone. "Chicks send me pictures," Ross said. "And I appreciate it! I love all of them. But I don't do that shit. I'm the Boss." He shook his head, his expression hidden behind his candy-apple-red-framed aviator sunglasses. "Real n*ggas don't send d*ck flicks." (GQ Magazine)
Last January, The LOX's Sheek Louch sent out a warning to men and women about the dangers of intimate exposure on camera.
"['Picture Phone Foreplay'], that's for the chicks that's sending me them pictures," Sheek said in an interview. "Word. That's for them. They go hard on that camera phone...Nah, I'm not with it. Especially right now with how sh*t is, you send it to her and she puts it on all these sites and all that sh*t. I don't think that's cool. I don't do that. Keep your sh*t to yourself until you're with that girl. That's it. Sextapes and all that sh*t is not healthy right now!" (Hip Hop Game)
In October, Sheek's former Bad Boy Records boss Diddy admitted to engaging in "sexting" with women.
"And I plan on being the first black owner of an NFL football team," Diddy said in an interview with television veteran host David Letterman. "I wanted to put it out there to you guys...I'm a sex-texter myself. What is that, sex-texting? Even though Brett Favre is one of the best quarterbacks of this time, he's allowed to send a picture of his penis -- on these new BlackBerries, there's a certain angle [that] gives you an increase in size and width that after you take the picture, you cannot help but send it to a loved one..." ("The David Letterman Show")
Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West was caught with his pants on the ground after his nude self-captured photos leaked online a year ago.
The website MediaTakeOut.com posted the image Friday, after weeks of rumors that claimed naked shots of West were making the rounds. In the picture, which the site claims they received Friday morning, West is shown sitting on what appears to be a couch or chair, shirtless and wearing sunglasses and a chain necklace. The bottom half of the uncensored photo, posted as a separate image, reveals West wearing black boxer-briefs with his member exposed. (New York Daily News)

John Singleton Directing N.W.A. Movie ?

The N.W.A. film has been in talks for quite sometime. Recently, director John Singleton told The Playlist he’s in talks with reuniting with Ice Cube to direct the flick and that New Line is interested.
“I can’t talk too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story… The script is really, really good, and so we’re just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.”
