Caught On Tape: The Bloody Aftermath Of San Francisco Police Shootout - Police Kill Man In Shootout - The Hood Is Upset
Description: San Francisco police officers shot and killed a man after a gunbattle and foot chase in the Bayview district late Saturday afternoon. At 4:44 p.m., two uniformed officers were patrolling Third Street between Oakdale and Palou avenues as part of a recent violence-reduction effort in the area. They encountered the man as they were conducting a fare inspection on a Muni light-rail platform, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said Saturday. As the officers tried to detain the man, he took off running and drew a gun, police said. The two officers chased him on foot for about 1 1/2 blocks down Third Street, police said. When the suspect shot at the officers, they returned fire, fatally wounding him, Andraychak said. The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m. Police did not know how many shots were exchanged and would not say whether the suspect's gun had been retrieved, as the incident is still under investigation. Officers declined to release the suspect's name, saying only that he is believed to be between 19 and 21 years old. Neither officer was injured. Investigators were at the shooting scene into the evening, trying to piece together what happened. Some angry people at the site of the shooting complained that the officers had overreacted in the incident. In accordance with the department's policy, the incident is being investigated by homicide investigators, the department's officer-involved shooting team, the district attorney's office and the Office of Citizen Complaints.

Woman Kills Husband On Accident While Trying To Shoot Puppy
Police in Mississippi say a woman opened fire on a puppy that had threatened children, but wound up shooting and killing her husband.
Witnesses tell police that the pit bull named "Cocaine" had lunged at some children and tried to attack them on Friday. The dead man's son says the children were taken inside and his father picked the dog up.
It was then that police say Betty Walker fired twice, hitting the dog once and her husband once in the chest. Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green says the death of 53-year-old Robert Walker appears to have been accidental.
The report also stated that Colendula Green, Jackson police spokeswoman, considered the death accidental.
However, a Hinds County grand jury would decide whether to charge Betty or not.
Animal control officers have taken the dog, and its owner could face charges.
Do Black Men Survive Longer In Prison Than Out?
Black Men Survive Longer In Prison Than Out: Study
Black men in North Carolina may find themselves living longer healthier lives if they simply get locked up. A study was conducted and inmates in prison of African-American descent in the Tar Heel state were found to be somewhat protected against alcohol and drug related deaths and certain chronic diseases.
According to findings published in Annals of Epidemiology, white prisoners were more likely to die while incarcerated.
The study involved about 100,000 men between age 20 and 79 who were held in North Carolina prisons at some point between 1995 and 2005.
Researchers linked prison and state health records to determine the cause of death of inmates, then compared those statistics to the expected death of the average males of the same age and race that were not in jail.
Less than one percent of men died during incarceration regardless of race, but outside prison walls, blacks have a higher rate of death at any given age than whites.
"What's very sad about this is that if we are able to all of a sudden equalize or diminish these health inequalities that you see by race inside a place like prison, it should also be that in places like a poor neighborhood we should be able to diminish these sort of inequities," said Evelyn Patterson, who studies correctional facilities at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. David Rosen talked about the healthcare in prison that may add to the life expectancy but on the contrary he brought up the loss of family, relationships, employment and opportunity once a man becomes a prisoner.
Does this mean men should go to jail in order to add some years to their lives? Probably not, but it does say that we should be able to avoid the pitfalls of the world without having to be barred from society.

10 Artists That Should Delete Their Twitter Accounts
Launched on July 15th, 2006, social networking website Twitter has gone from a microblogging hangout spot for bloggers and internet nerds to one of the top social networks in the world.
In just five years Twitter has grown to 200 million+ users, while bringing in an estimated $140 in total revenue.
And over the years, Twitter has been a great place for users to pass the time, keep up with friends, vent aimlessly in 140 characters or less or receive updates on their favorite celebrities.
By now everyone who's anyone has an account on Twitter, but that doesn't mean everyone needs an account.
Send the wrong tweet to your followers, and your career could go from the top of the world to bottom of the lake...just ask Asher Roth.
Today, as we celebrate Twitter's 5th birthday, we take a look at 10 Artists That Should Delete Their Twitter Accounts before it's too late.
Twitter: @chrisbrown
Number of Followers: 3,470,960
We hate to throw Chris Brown under the bus, but it seems like problems seem to follow C. Breezy wherever he goes...Twitter included.
Whether he's going back and forth with
Frank Ocean and Tyler, The Creator, or snapping back at Raz B, Chris
Brown would be better off just deleting his account.
Tyrese Gibson
Twitter: @Tyrese
Number of Followers: 1,814,950
Tyrese has a shoot first, ask questions
last approach to Twitter. Like last week when he disrespected Whitney
Houston in the midst of denying rumors that the two were dating.
Mary J. Blige
Twitter: @maryjblige
Number of Followers: 1,796,090
If it wasn't for Twitter, we would have never underestimated Mary J. Blige's "intelligents".
Lil Kim
Twitter: @LilKim
Number of Followers: 326,530
Lil Kim must have thought we just started
tweeting yesterday when she tried to convince her followers that she
sold 113,000 copies of her mixtape through Paypal in one day. GTFOH, Lil
Kim.
Plies
Twitter: @Plies
Number of Followers: 211,190
Surely Plies has better things to do other than send out real n*gga tweets like the one above.
Game
Twitter: @thegame
Number of Followers: 539,970
Jokes are usually good for a great laugh on Twitter, but Game is the king of taking things too far.
Wale
Twitter: Wale
Number of Followers: 925,270
All celebrities have haters on Twitter, but Wale is the most notorious for getting emo and responding.
Tyler, The Creator
Twitter: @fucktyler
Number of Followers: 330,290
Have you ever been to Odd Future frontman
Tyler, The Creator's Twitter page? Take a look at the screen shot of his
timeline above and note that this was taken from 2:00 p.m. today. But
also note that his timeline is like this everyday.
Lil B
Twitter: @LILBTHEBASEDGOD
Number of Followers: 264,990
Lil B should have been banned from Twitter
the moment he released this tweet about Kanye. Sadly, the Based God is
still tweetin'.
Bruno Mars On The Cover Of Billboard Magazine
On next week’s issue of Billboard, rising star Bruno Mars graces his first magazine cover. With millions in global single sales, millions in global album sales, a Grammy, winning tours – Bruno Mars, singer, songwriter, producer – is a certified superstar. On a rare day off, he talks about his hard-fought rise – and looks to his golden future. Check out some quotes from the interview below or check out the full thing over at Billboard.
Being on the brink of superstardom: “It’s a rare thing that happens,” he says, a packet of cigarettes and a smartphone resting by his feet, “especially in this day, where it’s real hard to sell albums. I’m traveling to places that I’ve never even heard of and there are all these people singing the songs back — and English is not even their first language. It’s like, what the hell happened?”
About his growing fame: “When people fall is when they’re like, ‘OK. Now I’m here, what’s next? A clothing line?’ That’s not what I’m trying to do.” His website contains a modest selection of merch, including hot pants, T-shirts and wristbands. But he’s firm. “It’s like, ‘Don’t be a slut. Remember your dream. Do your music and keep it special.’”
About his past drug use: Mars’ February charge for cocaine possession is discussed with similar frankness, and apparent humility. “It’s something that I wish would go away,” Mars says. “It’s a cloud that constantly follows me no matter how many achievements. I’d like to move on. To show that I’m here for my music. Not to be in a tabloid.”
Future plans for his career: “I’m itching and jonesing to get back into the studio,” he says, “and fantasizing about doing a side project.” No firm plans for that exist, but he’s looking around. “I’m such a fan of how Jack White and Danger Mouse get down and put these bands together. I’d love to be the drummer in a band that I’m producing, and sit back there and have someone else sing,” says Mars, who has recorded vocals for Jay-Z and Kanye West’s forthcoming “Watch the Throne” album, but says he doesn’t know if he’ll appear on the final record. “Whether I’m on it or not I’m pretty sure it’s going to be awesome.
